As Tecolote Tiles & Gallery, we were in Old Town Albuquerque for almost 25 years selling our handpainted tiles and Native American art. And, although we closed our store there, we are still very much in business. All of our tile, as before, is hand glazed, not printed or silkscreened. It is fired to a porcelain finish, so it is unaffected by heat and will not fade. We have tiles that can be used either by themselves or in a variety of frames, lazy susans, bread boards, and boxes. We also carry multitile pieces that are art in their own right. We welcome custom work from changing color (no charge) and size of our own designs to custom address signs to anything you want to create. Pegged and glued solid wood furniture incorporating our tile is also available. And, because we do all our woodworking inhouse, this can be customized as well.
The Native art, which includes kachinas, pottery, and fetish carvings, comes directly from the individual artists and is all made in New Mexico. NO factory work, NO imports. Included with purchase are the artist's bio and significance of the piece.
Prices shown do not include gross receipts tax on New Mexico residents or shipping. Quantity discounts and discounts for payment by check or money order may apply. Shipping (including packing and full insurance) is based on the dollar amount of your purchase, a method that generally gives a good estimate of shipping cost. However, on occasion, the amount charged will be excessive, and, in those cases, a refund/credit will be issued. (We don't charge up if estimate is too low). We try to keep a close eye on this, but feel free to contact us if you would like shipping charges confirmed before you order.
